One of the highlights of our visit in Korea is Nami Island. It is popular because a famous Korean Drama was taken here – Winter Sonata.
We planned to go early because it will be a full day for us, aside from Nami, we also have Petite France and Garden of Morning Calm to go to that day.
Once you reach the Gapyeong station, buy a day pass bus ticket. It is worth KRW6000 which is totally worth it if you are planning to go to Nami Island, Petite France and Garden of Morning Calm because these destinations are covered by the bus route.
The first stop of the bus from Gapyeong is the ferry port.
When we reached the port, we decided to have breakfast first. Since we arrived early, we had difficulty finding an open restaurant. We only found one.
After breakfast, we head straight to the ticketing office and bought our Ferry tickets. Once we got our tickets we went to ride the Ferry. We were really excited. 🙂
It was a short ride and as I saw the dock of the Ferry in Nami Island, my excitement grew. In my head, I know I will take lots and lots of pictures in this place. I had this picture in my mind that the island will be covered in snow but it is not even snowing that day so scrap the snow idea haha.
Upon entering, we head to the right side where there is less people. We thought we need to find a place so we can start taking lots of pictures.
Then we start roaming around until we tire ourselves in taking pictures. No snow that day but dried leaves covered the land. I thought maybe Nami is more beautiful if we go there during Autumn. I will try to go back and see.
Even if there is no snow, water is frozen. Frozen enough to stand on it. Instantly, that became a plan.
That is one off my bucket list – to be able to stand on a frozen water!
We then took our time exploring the place. There are restaurants in Nami Island too. We went to a coffee shop to rest and then back to ‘feeling photographer’ in taking pictures.
Then we head to the other side (across the restaurants). There are tall trees and all its fallen leaves cover the ground. The sun peaks among its branches and the ray of light shining through. What a picturesque scenery.
Then we went to MBC Studio, nothing much to do there but to check out their studio set ups.
As we head out, we pass by this area where you can stick notes of your wishes or I guess whatever you want to write and leave there to be part of Nami Island.
After this, we then head out so we can catch the ferry and then wait for the bus to take us to our next destination – Petite France.
